Neurobiology
This course introduces students to the principles underlying nervous system function, from membrane biophysics and neuronal signaling to synaptic communication, sensory processing, and behavior. Through scientific storytelling, visual models, computational tools, and primary literature, students learn to think mechanistically and develop the analytical skills of practicing neuroscientists.
An integral part of understanding neuronal properties is conceptualizing and visualizing how neurons function. We use a free application specifically developed for Bucknell Neuroscience majors:

CURE
This course provides students with an authentic research experience centered on scientific ownership and collaborative discovery. Students work in teams to develop original research questions, design and defend experiments, analyze novel datasets, and communicate their findings through scientific presentations and posters, gaining firsthand experience in the practice of biological research.
